POV: That time my wrist ganged up against me 😫

A little throwback for you...

Last August, we had a massive fire incident, and I went full paw patrol mode, trying to save the day. Who knew it would backfire? 😩. I joined the neighbours who came to help quench the fire to carry mid-sized buckets of water upstairs. Heroic, right?

Well, until the next morning. I woke up, and my right wrist was screaming. Painful to move. Couldn’t even open a bottle of water. If this wasn’t a weapon formed against me by me, I don't know what else it would be.

Off to the hospital I went, expecting scans and bad news. But guess what?

No sprain. No break. No fracture. Just a wrist that had been ignored for too long.

I’d never thought about exercising my wrists. I stretch my back. I squat. I do leg lifts. But my wrists? Nothing. Yet, I scroll endlessly, type daily, and hold my phone like it’s glued to my palm.

So yeah, my wrist had every right to give up on me.

Your wrist is also tired

Be honest, do you even know that your wrist needs to be exercised?

How long do you scroll without a break?
How often do you hold your phone with one hand, thumb flying like a ninja?
When was the last time you stretched your wrists?

Exactly.
Many of us are low-key dealing with something called Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) or wrist immobility, and we don’t even know it.

Signs your wrist is begging for help:

  • Tingling fingers or numbness
  • Pain when using your phone or typing
  • Weak grip when lifting small things (like your bottle of water)

What to do before your wrist gives up on you:

  • Wrist circles: Rotate your wrists slowly like you’re turning garri in slow motion.
  • Prayer pose stretch: Press palms together in front of your chest and push downward.
  • Phone hand swap: Switch hands often while texting or scrolling.
  • Elevate & support: Use a pillow or rolled scarf to support your wrist in bed.
  • Set a scroll timer: Scroll much? Rest for 15–30 minutes max. And rest your eyes, too.

P.S.: Is your neck okay, or has your phone been doing silent damage?
Spoiler: That 45-degree tilt isn't as harmless as you think.

You thought back pain was caused by stress? LOL. It might just be because you have become a Phone Scroller Supreme. Yep, phone neck is real, and it’s slowly turning us into human question marks with double chins.

Don’t miss the Thursday issue; your neck will thank you.
Set a reminder, drink water, and come back Thursday for the gist!

Till Thursday,

Hi Reader, On Tuesday, I asked you a simple but powerful question: What’s one thing you’re doing for yourself this week? Maybe you said, “I’ll drink more water,” or “I’ll rest,” or “I’ll stop feeling guilty for doing less.” Or maybe life got loud, and you forgot to choose anything at all. That’s okay. This is a cue to pause and do something for you now that you still have time. Even if all you do is take 5 quiet minutes to breathe. Or stretch. Or sit in stillness without rushing to the next...

meme of a cat being catatonic

You know that feeling: You're sitting in front of your laptop. Your to-do list is breathing down your neck. You're not tired… But somehow, you can’t move. That’s not laziness. That’s catatonic fatigue, a silent, sneaky burnout symptom most people don’t talk about. That's not what catatonic means 😂 What does being catatonic mean? This stuck, frozen state can happen when your nervous system is overloaded and your brain quietly shuts down “non-essential” tasks like emails, dishes… even getting...

How to deal with stress eating

This week came with a load of stress 😩. From dealing with unsatisfied clients, creating content late into the night, to sending a debtor reminder to pay me for March work! I was STRESSED! Guess who slumped into stress eating? Me. I had that urge to munch on something even after eating enough food. I had to check myself immediately! Somebody say MINDFUL EATING If you've ever had that snack attack even when you just ate lunch, welcome to the club. That urge to chew something while doom-scrolling...
